Mahatma Rice Review - See what all the Bzz is about!

Awhile back, I signed up to be a BzzAgent after a friend told me about it. Recently I received my first BzzCampaign opportunity to do a review for Mahatma rice. I was pleasantly surprised to receive two full size bags of rice to try - Mahatma White Rice and Mahatma Brown Rice. In addition, I received several coupons and recipe cards to pass out to my family and friends.

Mahatma is the new name of S&W Rice and is the number one selling rice brand in the U.S. I was already familiar with the Mahatma Saffron Yellow Rice, which I love, so I was excited to try these other versions. Apparently my hubby was excited too, because he insisted on making a dish with the brown rice himself. Now how could I not love that?

He chose to make the Spanish Rice recipe found on the Mahatma website, but used brown rice instead of the white. Also, he substituted the 2 cups of stewed tomatoes that the recipe called for with 2 cups of salsa. Since he used the brown rice the cooking time was a little longer - about 45 minutes. It turned out great! This is actually going to be a regular meal in our house now. I highly recommend this brown rice. It does not have that hard and chewy texture like a lot of brown rice I've tried. It's soft and seriously yummy.

For the white rice I made the Simple Rice Pilaf recipe. It turned out good too. The white rice is soft and cooks up great. Now I can't wait to try out some of the other recipes on the Mahatma website.

So to sum it up, I give Mahatma rice two thumbs up. (Four actually, cause hubby gives it two thumbs up too.) Look for it at your local grocery store and give it a try.

For those interested, I also recommend checking out the BzzAgent website and consider becoming a BzzAgent yourselves. It's fun and I can't wait for my next BzzCampaign opportunity!
